2S1 Gvozdika is a Russian self-propelled 122 mm artillery mount with all-round firing. Created on the basis of the MT-LBu multi-purpose chassis. Serial production began in 1971. In total, over the years of production, more than 10,000 units of 2S1 were manufactured. Designed to destroy and suppress manpower and infantry firepower, destroy field-type fortifications, provide passages in minefields and wire obstacles, and combat enemy artillery, mortars and armored vehicles. The worlds first serial floating tracked self-propelled gun. The sealed welded hull of the SAU 2S1 has bulletproof armor (the maximum thickness of the steel plates reached 20 mm) and allows swimming to overcome water obstacles. The 2S1 Gvozdika is in service in at least 40 countries.
