The KC-135 is a refueling aircraft developed by Boeing in 1956.
- Many parts were common with the 707 airliner of the same period.
- The refueling device is equipped with a flying boom system on the underside of the fuselage, and the refueling operator's seat is located at the rear of the fuselage, and the operator operates it by lying on his stomach.
- Not only refueling, but also a transport aircraft with a maximum loading capacity of 38 tons.
- The R type is a modernized version, and the engine has been changed to the CFM-56 fan jet, the avionics has been modernized, and the system has been updated on a large scale, greatly extending the life of the aircraft.
- The next-generation refueling machine has been adopted, but it is considered impossible to procure a sufficient quantity, so it is being operated for the time being. |
