Background

The Mercedes-Benz SSKL marked the crowning glory of the legendary S-Series and wrote motorsport history in 1931. When Rudolf Caracciola became the first non-Italian driver to win the prestigious Mille Miglia with this technical masterpiece, he proved the extraordinary potential of the car. With its powerful 7.1-litre engine and an output of 300 hp, the SSKL set new standards in racing at the time.
