In August 2023, the U.S. government approved a military assistance program to supply the Ukrainian Air Force with F-16 aircraft. The war between Ukraine and Russia, which began with the Russia's invasion in February 2022, has become a prolonged and intense conflict.
Ukraine Forces have demonstrated resilience in defending their homeland, aided by NATO military assistance.
About a year after the U.S. agreement, the first F-16A MLU arrived in Ukraine. These include two ex-Danish aircraft, to be followed by ex-Dutch jets. At least two F-16 ADFs are being used as ground crew trainers and are not flyable. The markings are for the Ukrainian Jets that arrived in early August 2024. |
