The Ford Focus is an American compact car, which was first presented to the public in 1998. Its serial production started in the same year and is still going on. The car was or is powered by a relatively wide range of gasoline and diesel engines - depending on the version - with a capacity of 1.4 to 2.5 liters. The car was or is being produced in several cities around the world, for example: Valencia in Spain, Buenos Aires in Argentina or in Saarlouis in Germany.

The Focus model was developed and put into mass production by the automotive concern Ford Motor Corporation in order to replace the Escort model in the commercial offer. Compared to its predecessor, it differed primarily in the rear suspension or the range of power units offered. The design of the exterior and passenger compartment were also enormous. The Ford concern called it New Edge Design. The car turned out to be very successful and was quite successful on the market. In 1999, it was announced the European Car of the Year. The Ford Fokus WRC also turned out to be a very successful rally car, which in 2006 and 2007 allowed the BP-Ford World Rally Team to win the Constructors' World Championship title.
