This is a new tool Limited Edition, Dual Combo kit featuring the P-51B Mustang in 1/48 scale.
The kit will include decals for 10 machines that participated in the 1944 Normandy landings, as well as pre-painted photo-etched parts and masks. The D-Day Mustangs P-51B were a group of North American P-51B Mustang fighter aircraft used by Allied forces during the pivotal D-Day invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944.
These aircraft played a crucial role in providing air support and air superiority for the invasion forces as they landed on the beaches of Normandy.
The P-51B Mustang, equipped with its powerful Packard-built Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, was renowned for its speed, range, and manoeuvrability.
Armed with .50 calibre machine guns, it was a formidable opponent for enemy aircraft and ground targets alike.
The D-Day Mustangs, painted with distinctive invasion stripes for recognition by friendly forces, conducted strafing runs on enemy positions, escorted bombers, and conducted reconnaissance missions to support the Allied advance inland.
